Most people booking junk removal have never booked it before, and nothing about the pricing model is obvious from outside it. It is volume work: the number tracks the share of the truck your load will occupy once it has been packed properly.

Why volume rather than hours
A junk removal truck has a fixed capacity, a fixed running cost and a fixed tipping cost at the other end. Those three things — not the number of minutes a crew spends on your driveway — are what a job actually costs to run.
Charging by the hour would also create a genuinely perverse incentive. A crew that works slowly would earn more, and you would be paying for the difference between a good team and a bad one.
So loads are described in fractions of a truck, and that is what you are quoted against. It is also why a photograph is enough to price from: the space a load will take is visible in a picture in a way that hours of labour are not.
How loads are described
These are volumes, not prices. Your actual number comes from the quote flow against your specific load, and you see it before you book.

The four things that move a job beyond straight volume
Most loads are pure volume. These are the exceptions, and all four are visible in the quote rather than added later.
Dense material
Concrete, brick, tile, stone, plaster and weight plates. A small volume of any of these outweighs a truck of furniture.
Disposal fees
Refrigeration needs refrigerant recovery, and tyres carry a fee. Both are real costs, shown in the price.
Dismantling
Hot tubs, sheds, playsets, racking and cubicle systems take genuine time to take apart before they can be loaded.
Exceptional carries
Stairs and normal carries are free. A load two hundred yards from anywhere a truck can park is a different job.

Pricing — common questions
- Why are there no prices on this page?
- Because a number here would be a guess, and a guess that turns out to be wrong on your driveway is worse than no number at all. Your actual price is generated in the quote and booking flow against your specific load, and you see it before you commit to anything.
- Does a faster crew mean a smaller bill?
- No, and that is the point of volume pricing. You are paying for the space your load occupies in the truck and where it has to go afterwards, not for hours of labour. A fast crew is simply a fast crew.
- Does it cost more to be further from Plano?
- No. A load in Prosper is priced the same as the identical load in Plano. What distance affects is which appointment windows are available, not the rate.
- When would weight matter more than volume?
- Dense material — concrete, brick, tile, stone, plaster, large weight-plate collections. A small pile of any of those outweighs a truck of furniture, so they are quoted with weight in mind. Say what the material is at quote stage.
- Which items carry a disposal fee?
- Mainly refrigeration, because refrigerant has to be recovered by someone equipped to do it, and tyres. Both appear in your quoted price rather than being added afterwards.
- Do I pay more for stairs, a long carry or dismantling?
- Stairs and long carries are part of a normal job and are not charged separately. Genuine dismantling work — a hot tub cut down, a shed taken apart, a cubicle farm stripped — takes real time and is reflected in the estimate, which is why it is worth flagging in advance.
- How do I get an accurate number?
- Photographs. Stand far enough back to get the whole pile or room in one frame, add close-ups of anything heavy or awkward, and mention the carry. That is the difference between an estimate and a firm price.
