Accessibility

Our approach

This site aims to meet the WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines. That is a target rather than a certification, and where we fall short we would rather know about it than assume otherwise.

What has been built in

The following are deliberate rather than incidental.

• Semantic HTML with a single H1 per page and a logical heading order.
• A skip-to-content link as the first focusable element on every page.
• Visible focus indicators throughout, and full keyboard operability for navigation, menus and accordions.
• The before-and-after comparison is driven by a labelled range input, so it works with a keyboard and with assistive technology, not only by dragging.
• FAQ answers use native disclosure elements, so they are present in the page and readable without JavaScript.
• Descriptive alternative text on every photograph, written to describe the scene rather than to repeat keywords.
• Colour contrast checked against AA thresholds for body text, headings and interactive elements.
• Text resizes without breaking layout, and no content requires horizontal scrolling on a narrow screen.
• Motion is limited and respects the prefers-reduced-motion setting.
• Tap targets on mobile are sized for touch, and the persistent action bar is removed from the tab order while it is off screen.

Known limitations

The booking, quote and account forms are provided by the central Junk Koala platform at https://junkkoala.com and are embedded into this site. Their accessibility is determined by that platform rather than by this branch. Each embed includes a direct link to the platform, and every page offers a phone alternative.

If you cannot complete a booking or quote for any reason, the branch will take the whole thing over the phone. That is a genuine alternative, not a fallback we would rather you did not use.
