Three things that sharpen a quote

Photograph the whole pile

Stand back far enough to get everything in one frame, then add close-ups of anything heavy.

Mention the carry

Upstairs, behind a gate, at the back of a garage — the carry sets crew size more than the volume does.

Flag the awkward items

Tile, concrete, safes, hot tubs and anything needing dismantling are worth calling out early.

Already know what you need? Skip the quote and book a window directly.

What comes back

A price for the space your load will take in the truck, expressed against the load fractions used across the whole Junk Koala network — a single item, a minimum load, then eighths, quarters, thirds, halves and up to a full truck. Where something in the load carries a disposal cost of its own, such as refrigeration, that is shown rather than added later.

A quote is not a booking and there is no obligation attached to it. If it works, the same details carry straight into a booking window; if it does not, nothing happens.

What makes a quote wrong

Almost every quote that has to be revised on the day was revised for one of these five reasons. All five are avoidable at this stage.

  • A space nobody photographed — usually the loft, the shed or behind a gate
  • Dense material described as general debris: tile, stone, plaster, concrete
  • An item that has to be dismantled before it can be carried anywhere
  • A carry that is much longer than the photograph suggested
  • Furniture that will not clear a doorway or a turn on the stairs
  • Hazardous items in the pile, which need a different route entirely

Quote questions

How long does a quote take?
It depends on what you send. A clear photograph of a defined pile is quick; a whole-property clearance with five spaces to assess takes longer because somebody has to look at all five properly.
Is the quote binding?
It holds for the load you described. If the load on the day is materially different — more volume, heavier material, something that has to be taken apart — the crew tells you the revised number before anything is loaded.
Can I get a quote without photographs?
Yes, from an item list, and it will be less precise. Photographs are the difference between an estimate and a number you can rely on, which is why they are worth the two minutes.
Do you quote commercial and recurring work?
Yes. Include the company name, the property type and how often the work recurs in the notes, and the Plano branch picks it up as business work rather than a household booking.
Does a quote cost anything?
No, and there is no obligation to book afterwards.
