Washer & Dryer Removal in Plano, TX

Laundry appliances usually leave in pairs, and usually from the worst possible room — a narrow utility cupboard, a second-floor laundry, or a garage corner with three other things stacked in front.

Two appliances, one very small room

The difficulty with laundry appliances is rarely the appliance. It is the doorway, the turn out of the utility room, and the fact that a washing machine holds several litres of water in places that only reveal themselves once it is tilted.

Second-floor laundries — common in the newer Plano, Frisco and Prosper builds — add a staircase to that. A stacked washer-dryer pair coming down a turn is a two-person carry at minimum and a three-person one in practice.

The crew drains what is left in the drum, straps the unit to a dolly, and protects the route on the way out. Gas dryers are the one exception: those need disconnecting by a qualified fitter before the day.

What we take

Replacing the pair at once?

Book the collection for after your delivery slot and both old units go in one visit, rather than living in the garage for a fortnight.

FAQ

Washer & Dryer Removal in Plano, TX — common questions

Do I need to disconnect them first?
Turn off the water and disconnect the hoses on the washer, and unplug an electric dryer. A gas dryer must be disconnected and capped by a qualified fitter before the crew arrives.
Will water leak on my floor?
Some residual water is normal. Draining the drum and running a short spin the day before removes most of it, and the crew carries absorbent covers for the rest.
Can you get a stacked unit down from an upstairs laundry?
Yes. Stacked pairs are separated first, then carried down individually. Mention the floor and the staircase when you book.
Do you take units that still work?
Yes, and working appliances in reasonable condition are routed to donation or resale where there is somewhere to take them.
